We don’t fix garage doors.
That is the whole point. Every other garage door price you find online is published by someone with a stake in the number — a contractor who wants it high, or a lead marketplace paid per introduction. We are neither.
What this is
A price reference for garage door repair in the United States, covering17 repair types across 51 states and 586 cities, with a calculator that adjusts the numbers for your door, your location, and how quickly you need the work.
It exists because the honest answer to “what should this cost?” was genuinely hard to find. Search results are dominated by pages that quote a single national figure with no adjustment for the two things that move the price most — labour rates where you live, and whether you are calling at 4pm on a Tuesday or 11pm on a Sunday.
How the numbers are built
Every figure is an installed price: parts and labour together, what a homeowner hands the technician. Not a parts cost, not a labour rate. The method is documented in full on how the estimate works, including the multipliers and, more importantly, what the model deliberately does not do.
The short version: a national installed-price baseline per repair, adjusted by door size and material where the work actually scales with door weight, by age, by urgency, and by a labour index for your state and market. Every one of those adjustments is shown to you on screen rather than folded silently into a single number.
What we don’t do
- We don’t sell repairs. There is no garage door company behind this site quoting its own prices back to you.
- We don’t rank or recommend contractors. No directory, no “top 10 near you”, no paid placement.
- We don’t gate the estimate. The number appears before anyone asks for your phone number, and it appears whether or not you ever give it.
- We don’t publish or resell your details. If you ask to be contacted for quotes, that is the only thing your number is used for.
Where the estimates end
An estimate built from medians cannot see your door. Hidden damage is the usual reason a real quote lands above the range, a broken spring often takes the cables with it, and no company is bound by anything published here. The range is for judging quotes against — it is not a quote.
Keeping it honest
Baselines are reviewed against prevailing market pricing and updated when they drift. The most useful correction anyone can send us is a real invoice that falls well outside our range: that is what keeps a model like this anchored to what people are actually paying, rather than to what it assumed last year.
